PS3 vs. PS2

Sony is obviously a major player in the world of video games and just to prove it they decided to delay the release of PlayStation 3 almost an entire year to put everyone else in the business to shame.  PS3

Every maker of every video game console is always attempting to come up with the next best thing to outdo the others in the business, but most should just stick to what Sony has seemed to do, only attempt to outdo themselves.  In this case Sony’s PlayStation Empire seems to have done just that in making the owners of PlayStation 2 step away from their controllers and look to the future.

With PlayStation 3 the traditional Sony PlayStation followers will be as impressed and excited as they have been since perhaps the original PlayStation was released.  In comparison to the others at the time, the original PlayStation was remarkably ahead of all others in game play, graphics, realism, etc.  You name it, they had it and now they’ve done it again.  Here is a comparison of the PlayStation 3 against the former gem of Sony, PlayStation 2.Ps2 Game System

Ø      First, what you need to know is that the former versions of PlayStation were groundbreaking, but they were games that were played on CD-ROM or normal DVDs.  This was great at the time and very good for game play, but PlayStation 3 has taken it to the next level with Blu-Ray technology.  What Blu-Ray technology allows for is deeper game play and sophistication because of the increased space on a Blu-Ray disc (almost five times the amount of space).

Ø      The PlayStation 2 allows for very impressive speed in your gaming experience with the use of a 300 MHz processor to enhance game play.  While this was nice while it lasted, the good folks at Sony have improved their gaming situation dramatically with the PlayStation 3 having a Cell Broadband Engine to revolutionize game play.  With this type of power in a processor the possibilities are endless for developers to come up with great, exciting new games.

Ø      Sony has always had great controllers with their video game consoles, but now they have begun to set the future for us with the advent of the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller.  The controller works basically the same as the controller for the PS2, but now it has a motion detector functionality that allows for more streamlined and real controls.  In addition, the PS3 controller is wireless, but it also has a USB cord that can be plugged in to become wired and charge as you play.

Ø      The truly hardcore gamers have loved the PS2 for a while for its capability and possibility, but now Sony has truly taken it to the next level, High-Definition.  You can truly experience a game in the most real way possible by enjoying high-definition gaming whenever you want!  Don’t try to overcome evil in Ghost Recon the regular way, do it in high-definition, the way God intended!
